Overview
Father Florin is a priest whose career spans Vale Sangora's old and new orders. He once served as Knyaz Skender's personal confessor and now occupies a prominent public role in Brencis's Blood Covenant, celebrating Mass and hearing confessions from Svartrau Cathedral to the surrounding villages.
That public accommodation hides a second allegiance. Florin leads a clandestine Christian congregation beneath an abandoned building on Carpenter Row and looks for a champion capable of challenging the vrakhiri. The contradiction makes him neither a simple collaborator nor an uncomplicated resistance hero.
Story & Divided Faith
Florin knows how religious authority survives a change of rulers. Under Brencis, he publicly interprets and legitimizes the Blood Covenant even though its rituals serve a vrakhir regime. His history with Skender and his willingness to rationalize violence make later claims of resistance difficult to accept without scrutiny.
The hidden congregation reveals that accommodation is not his only project. Florin preserves Christian worship beneath Carpenter Row and searches ancient religious and martial history for a way to oppose Brencis. A Hero's End sends Coen toward ancient ruins and a warrior's armor, turning Florin's belief in a chosen champion into a test the player can complete. Keeping him alive and accepting cooperation eventually produces practical intelligence: a side entrance into Greifberg Castle that offers one route into the finale.
Skender, Brencis & Coen's Judgment
Skender represents Florin's former access to secular power, while Brencis represents the regime he publicly serves and secretly hopes to defeat. His survival across both courts suggests adaptability, but it also raises the question of how much responsibility belongs to a confessor who blesses or explains the actions of rulers.
Coen's relationship with Florin is therefore a judgment rather than a friendship meter. Cooperation treats compromised knowledge as useful against a worse enemy. Killing him rejects that bargain but permanently removes his quests and castle route. Refusal can be reconsidered; death cannot, making the distinction important before the final assault.
