Essential Swordmastery perks and stamina optimization

The Human Swordsman build establishes Coen as an unyielding master duelist throughout Vale Sangora's daylight hours. Because the campaign features an irreversible talent tree with no character respec, investing early points into defensive efficiency and stamina economy is paramount for surviving prolonged engagements.

Unlock Endless Effort immediately within the first tier of the Swordmastery tree. This foundational perk curtails stamina consumption during directional blocks and weapon swings by twenty-five percent while accelerating passive stamina recovery by twenty percent, eliminating early-game exhaustion penalties.

Follow this up with Sustained Focus to raise Coen's maximum Activation Charges from two to four. Having four full charges enables the swordsman to execute consecutive Piercing Thrusts and Cleaving Whirlwinds, breaking through heavily armored bandit leaders and vampire wardens with ease.

Legendary weapon setup: Durandal and Arbiter's Medallion

The centerpiece of the Swordsman build is the legendary Durandal Longsword, discovered through the sunken crypt puzzle in Western Vale. Durandal features unmatched base physical damage scaling alongside a native twenty percent armor-piercing multiplier that bypasses thick enemy plate and hardened beast hides.

Equipping the Arbiter's Medallion amplifies the longsword's effectiveness by granting a fifteen percent bonus to posture damage against vampire boyars and regional lieutenants. This synergy causes enemy posture meters to fracture in two to three well-timed counterattacks.

For armor, combine Ambrus' Cuirass for immense poise and bleed resistance with Isbrand's Greaves to offset roll encumbrance. This combination ensures Coen retains mid-tier evasion agility while shrugging off stray light arrows and monster claw swipes without staggering.

Dueling combat loop: parry, riposte, and fatal execution

Executing the Human Swordsman combat loop requires calm observation and precise reaction rather than button mashing. Begin encounters by holding mid-range spacing, drawing out predictable enemy lunges or overhead chops.

Match the incoming attack quadrant and execute a Perfect Parry to trigger a defensive stagger. Immediately follow with a Riposte Counter-Thrust, dealing double critical damage that completely drains remaining enemy posture.

Once the target stumbles into full vulnerability, trigger a Fatal Strike execution. As the adversary recovers from the execution blow, expend accumulated Activation Charges into a sweeping Whirlwind Cleave to finish off surrounding reinforcements before resetting your guard.
